Participation at the BAV Altholztag (Waste Wood Day) in Frankfurt – professional exchange and new impulses
Technical expertise, innovation and lively exchange: at the BAV Altholztag in Frankfurt, the DI MATTEO Group presented modern technologies for waste wood processing – receiving consistently positive feedback from industry professionals.

Industry meeting of the waste wood sector in a special setting
On 4 September 2024, the DI MATTEO Group took part for the first time in the BAV Altholztag (Waste Wood Day) organised by the Federal Association of Waste Wood Processors and Recyclers (BAV e. V.) in Frankfurt. The annual event is one of the most important industry gatherings in Germany for companies and professionals involved in waste wood processing and recycling.
The event took place at the historic Gesellschaftshaus Palmengarten. Its distinctive atmosphere provided an ideal setting for presentations, discussions and professional exchange.
Current developments and key industry topics
The BAV Altholztag focused on current trends, developments and challenges facing the waste wood industry. Experts from various fields presented innovative approaches and discussed technological progress.
This year’s key topics included sustainability and the efficient use of resources – areas that are also of central importance to the DI MATTEO Group.
DI MATTEO Group as an active participant
The DI MATTEO Group actively contributed to the programme. Dr-Ing. Luigi Di Matteo and Mathias Rzadki delivered a technical presentation in which they presented modern technologies for waste wood processing.
Particular emphasis was placed on recent developments in mechanical and thermal processing. These technologies enable recycling processes to become more efficient and resource-efficient. The solutions presented attracted strong interest and positive feedback from the attending industry experts.

Exchange and networking
In addition to the technical programme, the BAV Altholztag offered numerous opportunities for personal exchange. Following the official agenda, a social evening was held in the impressive setting of Goethe University’s Westend Campus.
Around 200 members of BAV e. V. took the opportunity to engage in discussions in a relaxed atmosphere. For the DI MATTEO Group, this provided a valuable opportunity to strengthen existing contacts and establish new partnerships.
Looking ahead: the future of the waste wood industry
The BAV Altholztag 2024 clearly demonstrated that the waste wood industry is facing significant change. Increasing demands for sustainable solutions and a growing need for more efficient recycling technologies will shape the sector’s development in the years to come.
For the DI MATTEO Group, this makes it all the more important to work continuously with partners and customers on new solutions and to actively help shape the future of waste wood recycling.
We would like to thank BAV e. V. for organising the event and all participants for the stimulating discussions and constructive exchange.
