Keynote on intelligent bulk material discharge at SOLIDS 2026
At the trade fair SOLIDS & RECYCLING-TECHNIK Dortmund 2026, Prof. Dr Dominik Aufderheide from South Westphalia University of Applied Sciences will present a keynote on “Intelligent bulk material discharge based on 3D vision”. The DI MATTEO Group supports the research project as an industrial partner.
3D vision for intelligent bulk material handling
The presentation demonstrates how modern 3D vision systems can analyse the behaviour of bulk materials in storage and discharge systems. The objective is to improve the understanding of material flow behaviour and enable more adaptive control of discharge processes.
By combining sensor technology, image processing and automated data evaluation, changes in the material flow can be detected at an early stage. This can support more stable operation of discharge systems and help reduce potential process disturbances.
Exchange between research and industry
The DI MATTEO Group supports the research project as an industrial partner and contributes practical experience in bulk material handling and plant engineering.
Collaboration between research institutions and industry supports the development of technologies under practical conditions and contributes to new approaches for future bulk material handling applications.
The keynote will take place on 18 March 2026 from 10:00 to 10:30 at the ImpulsCenter (Hall 4) during SOLIDS Dortmund.
DI MATTEO Group at SOLIDS Dortmund 2026
The DI MATTEO Group will also be part of the SOLIDS & RECYCLING-TECHNIK Dortmund 2026 and will present solutions for handling demanding bulk materials – from material reception and conveying technology to process technology, dosing and discharge.
