Mayor visits DI MATTEO Group in Beckum

Beckum’s mayor Michael Gerdhenrich and economic development officer Manuela Jakobs-Woltering visited the DI MATTEO Group to learn about current developments, economic challenges and the importance of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) for the Beckum business location.

Discussion on economic challenges

During discussions with Managing Director Luigi Di Matteo and authorised signatory Clelia Di Matteo, topics included rising energy costs, global economic uncertainties and increasing international competition.

Regulatory requirements and their impact on investment decisions and business development were also addressed. The meeting provided an opportunity to exchange perspectives between industry and local government.

Importance of SMEs for Beckum

Mayor Michael Gerdhenrich emphasised the importance of regional companies for the economic development of the city. Companies based in Beckum strengthen the municipality’s financial capacity through their tax contributions and create employment and training opportunities.

In addition, many companies contribute to the social fabric of the region, for example through voluntary engagement or support for community projects. “I am very pleased that a company such as the DI MATTEO Group is based in Beckum,” said Gerdhenrich. The group represents an example of the innovative strength and economic importance of SMEs at the location.
