During an open and constructive exchange with Managing Director Dr. Luigi Di Matteo, Authorised Signatory Clelia Di Matteo and Oliver Vacha, Managing Director of Ehrhardt Industrial Services – a company within the DI MATTEO Group – the importance of Beckum’s medium-sized industry for the local economy became clear, as did the challenges it is currently facing.
“The discussion made one thing clear: local companies want to invest, grow and create jobs – but they need the right framework conditions to make that happen,” van Kevelaer said after the meeting.
Accordingly, the talks also addressed key economic policy issues such as the availability of commercial land, a reliable and fair local business tax policy, and planning certainty for future business development – all of which are central elements of Nicolas van Kevelaer’s election platform.
“As mayor, I want to actively strengthen economic development – with a clear land-use strategy, efficient approval processes and genuine dialogue on equal terms. I will work to ensure that Beckum remains a strong and reliable location for our businesses,” van Kevelaer added.
A strong economy, he emphasised, not only creates jobs but also secures the city’s financial scope – for example for education, urban development, infrastructure and the promotion of culture and voluntary engagement.
The DI MATTEO Group, an internationally active family-owned company that has been based in Beckum for more than 55 years, is a strong example of innovation and sustainable growth in the region.
