Cycling together for Beckum

Seventeen DI MATTEO employees covered a total of 2,236 kilometres by bicycle during STADTRADELN 2026. The initiative highlights how everyday travel choices can contribute to more sustainable mobility.

Every kilometre counts

Sustainability often starts with small decisions rather than large-scale projects. STADTRADELN demonstrates each year how easy it can be to choose the bicycle more often – whether for commuting, running errands or leisure activities.

Every kilometre cycled replaces a journey that might otherwise be made by car. At the same time, cycling promotes physical activity, supports personal well-being and raises awareness of sustainable mobility in everyday life.

Cycling as a team

For our team, participation was not about rankings or competition. Instead, the focus was on taking part together and making a conscious choice to cycle more frequently.

The combined total of 2,236 kilometres shows how many individual contributions can add up to a meaningful result. This reflects the idea behind STADTRADELN: encouraging people to make cycling a natural part of their daily mobility.

Making sustainable mobility part of everyday life

Our participation demonstrates that sustainable mobility can be integrated into many everyday journeys – whether commuting to work, travelling in your free time or taking longer rides at the weekend. Meaningful change is often driven not by a single major action, but by many small decisions made consistently over time.

Initiatives such as STADTRADELN help raise awareness and encourage people to rethink established habits and explore alternative ways of travelling.

Encouraging sustainable mobility

STADTRADELN highlights the potential of cycling in everyday life. Companies, cities and municipalities can all contribute by creating supportive conditions and encouraging people to choose the bicycle more often.

Every ride counts – whether it is a daily commute, a short trip through town or a recreational ride. Step by step, these choices can contribute to lasting change.

We would like to thank all colleagues who took part in STADTRADELN 2026 as members of Team DI MATTEO. Together, they showed how simple choices can make sustainable mobility part of everyday life.

We are already looking forward to taking part again next year.
