SOLIDS Dortmund 2026: exchange and insights into bulk material handling

SOLIDS Dortmund once again provided an opportunity to engage with customers, partners and industry professionals and to discuss current topics in bulk material handling.

Discussions focused on practical requirements

The focus was less on individual components and more on how existing plants can be optimised and new requirements reliably implemented. Many discussions were directly linked to ongoing projects or operational experience.

It became clear that requirements vary significantly across industries and that solutions must be not only technically sound but also aligned with the specific process conditions.

Insights at the exhibition stand

At the stand, different solution approaches were presented. The Weigh Feeder Systems WeighTUBE® was positioned centrally, demonstrating options for precise dosing.

In addition, various conveying principles were presented, ranging from Drag Chain Conveyors to Air Belt Conveyors and Pipe Conveyors, each suited to different material handling requirements.

Linking research and practice

A key programme item was the technical presentation by Prof. Dr. Dominik Aufderheide from South Westphalia University of Applied Sciences on “Intelligent bulk material discharge based on 3D vision”.

The underlying research project is supported by DI MATTEO as an industrial partner, with the aim of linking new technological approaches with practical requirements in plant engineering at an early stage.

Platform for professional exchange

SOLIDS Dortmund continues to be an important platform for professional exchange within the industry. The discussions and insights gained at the exhibition will be incorporated into ongoing projects and future developments.
